Administrative Coordinator

Binghamton University is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Administrative Coordinator for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Energy Storage Engine in Upstate New York. Led by Binghamton University, the Engine brings together premier R&D universities and educational institutions, industry, economic development and community organizations, and government agencies to grow a leading battery technology ecosystem in Upstate New York with regional and national impacts.
The Administrative Coordinator will serve as a central resource for the Engine’s leadership team and play a critical role in supporting the organization’s day-to-day operations, leadership activities, events, and engagement with external partners and stakeholders. Reporting to the Engine CEO, the coordinator will be part of a team of highly skilled, dynamic and dedicated professionals advancing research, innovation, entrepreneurship, workforce and economic development under a nationally prominent high-visibility program.
The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for three primary areas:
- Coordinating schedules, meetings, and activities for the Engine’s leadership team, including engagements with external partners and stakeholders.
- Coordinating and supporting key internal and external events, meetings, and special projects.
- Serving as a primary administrative point of contact for the Engine and CEO with partners, stakeholders, and other constituents.
This position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, highly decentralized environment spanning multiple geographically dispersed organizations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented professional who can anticipate needs, solve problems independently, and maintain a positive, highly professional, collegial, and mission-driven approach. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with senior leaders and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and will bring a high level of discretion, professionalism, and follow-through to the role.
