SuperBoost Round 2: Call for Preliminary Proposals
The NSF Energy Storage Engine in Upstate New York is launching Phase 2 of its successful SuperBoost Technology Translation Program to accelerate the next generation of energy storage technologies from the lab toward market deployment.
The NSF Energy Storage Engine in Upstate New York is seeking preliminary proposals from organizations ready to advance technologies from TRL 3–5 toward commercial readiness (TRL 7+). SuperBoost provides up to $100,000 in funding, access to world-class facilities, commercialization support, and ecosystem connections to help companies validate performance, engage customers, and overcome barriers to deployment.
Eligible projects must have a committed customer prepared to purchase the resulting product or technology upon successful completion. Priority will be given to projects that strengthen domestic battery supply chains and advance U.S. national security.
Selected projects will leverage Upstate New York’s battery and energy storage ecosystem, including Engine partner facilities, regional expertise, and manufacturing capabilities, while supporting economic growth across the region.
